Ayyatollah Sayyad Mouhammad Razavi Kashani, son of Ayyatollah Habbatallah Razavi, also known as A'lam-alhoda, is one of the great 14th century Iranian jurists. He achieved the status of Ijtehad or Islamic independent reasoning after visiting numerous scholarly circles and taking lessons from such graet people as Molla Habibollah Sharif Kashani, Sayyad Mouhammad Alavi Borojerdi, Sayyad Hossein Kashani, Molla Muhammad kazim Khorasani, and Sayyadd Muhammad Kazim yazdi. He produced valuable works in interpretation, hadith or tradition, Islamic principles, and jurisprudence. This paper discusses his life and his scholarly works.
