Recognition of cultural and civil functions of Kashan: A developmental process

Assistant professor, university of Kashan, department of Sociology In this article, an attempt has been mavde to review recognition o Kashan’s cultural and civil role in different periods of history. These periods inculde the early history when the city was built the islamic period, the Qajar dynasty period, the pahlavi dynasty period, and the islamic revolution, as documented in the history, the formation of Kashan begings when people settled in Sialk Hills located in southwest of the city near Fin Fountain, Sialk Hills are the oldest residential areas insied Iran plateauue, during the islamic era, as Kashan was near the Capital of the time, isfahan, it received due attention and reached its highest level of development as a city. This trend was reversesd during the Qajar Dynasty when import of foreign goods and products, lack of state support the showed major recession. there was a second major deuleopment in the history o Kashan during the pahlavi Dynastry due to increased security and bvetter transportation. at this time a large number of carpet waving facuries and workshop established by people. After the islamic revolution, carpet weaving industries significantly increased. Compared to the 15 workshops before revolution, carpet factoreds were increased to 750 workshops after the revolution.
