In Islamic periods, many variations and differences in the art of pottery are found. Sometimes these variations are connected to such other arts as literature, painting, and calligraphy. There were also some situations in which the condition of the pottery wares such as its’ form and technique may cause these variations. This study considers the significance of poetry and its’ effect on the variations of the art of pottery such as making the environment poetic and conveying romantic, epic, and mystical themes. The paper attempts to investigate the relations between poetry and Kāshān’s pottery techniques in Islamic period. To this end, field study method and library are employed.
