Mirza Ahmad Kashani, Also known as Saboor Kashani, was the cousin of Fathali-Khan Sabba. He was one of the famous yet less known poets of the Qajar period. He was born in the 13th century (AD) in kashan, Iran and trained by his uncle in poetry. He was court poet who went to Azarbayjan when Abbas Mirza took to throne there. In 1228, he was the commander of a group of newly-converted Muslim captives of the Iran-Russia war in Talesh and was martyred and bured in the same place. He is a poet of the Bazghasht period and a follower of Sannaee, Anvari, and Farrokhi in his poetic style. His poems are mostly praises of the leading people of the court of Ghajar and of the religion of islam. His lyrics are mainly a combination of love and Sufism. On the whole, he is a very skilled poet. His Diwan is now available in four manuscript forms discussed in this paper.
