An important aspect of studying Kashan is investigating cities, aras, and places that have similar names to it. One reason for such a necessity is the wrong attribution of great people such as poets, writers, scientists, artists, and scholars to the city. This article is a review of areas that have been rightly or wrongly documented and named Kashan. The review reveals that only one such place with the same name, that is Kashan has ever existed and all other places are wrongly documented as Kashan due to different mistakes such as editing and printing, or confused with a city known as Bashan.
