Bābā Afzal Kāshāni, known also as Afzaluddin, is a scholar who greatly benefited from the thoughts of his predecessors in spite of the fact that he was himself highly talented. He acquired expertise in Persian literature, rhetoric, philosophy, and Islamic wisdom and was one of the greatest Islamic scholars. Apart from different dimensions of the views of this great thinker, one can also note his role on the revival and continuation of political thought among thinkers in the area of Islamic culture. In other words, in a specific period in the history of Islamic politics, when there were no more great political thinkers such as Farabi and Ibn Mosquieh, he focused on politics in his writing of "The Affairs of Waealthy Kings" (Saaz va Piraye Padeshahaan Pomaye). He revived the fading area of political thought through the study of his work as well as the work of his predecessor Abul Hassan A′meri.
